BlackAdder 2-4

Yes, I kind of went on a BlackAdder stretch.

BlackAdder II: This series if my favorite of the bunch. Between Miranda Richardson as Queenie, Lord Flashpot (hilariously played by Rick Mayall), Nursie and Lord Melchett (played wonderfully by Stephen Fry), it was really just about the perfect storm of British 1/2 Comedy. Plus the fact (and don't think I'm weird for this) but Rowan Attkinson is ridiculously hot with his facial hair, tights and curly mop. I mean RAR!!

BlackAdder III: This one was good, but for some reason, it didn't make me laugh as much as the first two series. I love Hugh Laurie (as Prince Regent George), but for some reason his silly brand of over-the-top just didn't rub me the right way for this series. Loved all the Pitt-the-Younger jokes. Although, Hugh does look really cute in a wig and makeup.

BlackAdder Goes Forth (IV)

In this installment, Hugh Laurie's humor worked. He was just a little shining star in the trenches of WWI. Really liked this one as well. All in all, a solid funny series. A must for anyone who like British humor.

Hannibal Rising

Thank you, Thomas Harris and Peter Weber. Thank you for shitting up one of the coolest characters in crime fiction literature and movies. Thank you for turning Hannibal into a twity little emo boy that isn't creepy or scary at all. Weber and Harris have turned Lecter into the ultimate avenger. Made him seem justified in his actions, rather than the super-genius serial killer of Silence of the Lambs. It just seems so damnable silly now that his creators have decided to explain all the mystery of Hannibal away. Plus the young actor that played Lecter is just terrible. Not scary, not anything. He cheeks annoyed me, but that is about all the feeling that I had for this kid. I like the story of Mischa, but since they left it out of the last movie (where it probably should have gone), it doesn't have the same punch that it did in the book (Hannibal). The Clarice/Mischa connection was such a nice and smart way to close up both stories for both women. This movie just leaves the Mischa story hanging. He gets vengeance, but gets no closure, and I suppose that in movie form, Lecter never will. I wish they would have allowed the book version to come to fruition in Hannibal.
